Helen Osceola. Adams-Kennedy

Helen Osceola Adams-Kennedy was born in Albany, Mississippi on September 30, 1932. She was the only child born to the late James Adams and Elnora Young. At a young age, she and her family moved from Mississippi to Evanston, Illinois. Where she live the rest of he life Helen was educated in the District 65 school system and she later received he Nursing Assistant Certificate from Oakton Community College.

Helen accepted Christ at an early age. She became a  member of the Bethany Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Brenda Little she remained faithful, active member until her extended illness prevented her from active service. She served on the Nurses Board for many years. Helen enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and bingo she retired from the Postal Service after 40 years, then she worked as a claims adjuster at Washington National and later pursued a career in the Healthcare Field.

Throughout her life, God and her family has always been her source of inspiration. She has tons of pictures of family and close friends to remember the great times and good memories. Helen was called home to be with the Lord October 10, 2018. She leaves to cherish in her memory her children; Clifford, Darryl and Terrance (Anne); 10 grandchildren; Machelle Kennedy, Janelle Kennedy-Pompey (Robert), Shakela Kennedy, Sharmane Sutton, Brian Kennedy, Savanha Pompey, Nicholas Chastang (Katrina), Twana Gibson, Courtney Mills, Leah Alston; Sister-in-law; Flozelle Young (Jimmy); and host of great-grand children, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by both parents, her father James Adams and her mother Elnora Young; her son Gregory (Jeanette). Helen was a peaceful woman and had the ability to make everyone feel special. She wants to be remembered for that, and her love for the Lord.
