Mr. Jonathan Gary Edwards

Jonathan Gary Edwards was born August 2, 1970, and James C. & Johnnie M. Edwards were delighted to be able to adopt him into their family when he was five.

He attended Walker Elementary School in Skokie, Illinois and graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1988.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois and went on to earn an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Gary worked for several major corporations as a Financial Analyst.

He was a competitive chess player and was glad to challenge anyone to the game.  A serious reader, he had an extensive library of his own, and was a prolific writer. He was a doting uncle who loved to present his nieces and nephews with surprise gifts, to their delight.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie M. Edwards and his brothers, James C. Edwards, Jr. and Jesse “Todd” Harmon.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, James C. and Rebecca Edwards, Sr. of Brunswick, Georgia; sisters, Rae (Melvin) Malone of Skokie, and Adrienne Edwards of Brunswick, Georgia; sister-in-law, Lisa Edwards of Skokie; nieces Alyse Edwards, Crystal Malone, and Lauren Malone of Skokie; nephews, Courtney Edwards (Julie) of Joliet, and Jeremy Edwards of Florissant, Missouri; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
