On July 2, 1975 the sun rose in Kingston, Jamaica, blessing Norma and Burtham with Leon, affectionately known to his friends and family as “Rude boy”. He late migrated to Chicago in his early teens. Leon passed away at Hinsdale hospital on January 11, 2019 at the age of 43.
Leon was a man that was full of vim and vigor, a man that was highly charismatic, kind hearted in nature, with a wicked sense of fashion that he loved to show through his wide collection of gym shoes. He lived everyday of his life like it was his last. Leon certainly had no problem with voicing his opinion as easily as arranging his words. He was bold and very opinionated; he was fearless in sharing his opinion with valor and spunk.
To truely know Leon, you would concur that he loved greatly and was extremely loved by many. Leon has many occupations such as a contractor, butcher, and lastly as a certified licensed forklift operator, but most importantly a devoted personal chef for his family. Leon was very loving, compassionate, and a proud father; he devoted himself in making sure that his biological kids as wells as stepchildren were taken care of.
He leaves behind his dear wife and best friend Regi Hanson, mother Norma Hanson, father Burtham Hanson, two children Meleon Norma Hanson and Leon Hanson Jr. A very special daughter Gia, four stepchildren, three sisters, two brothers, 11 nieces, four nephews, a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is gone but he will never be forgotten, his memory will live in all of us.
