Scott Alan Jones was born on August 30, 1956, in Evanston, Illinois to Rita J. Jones, and Charles Davis. He entered Heaven’s gates on August 17, 2019. Scott grew up in Evanston, Illinois and attended Evanston Township High School. He joined the United States Navy in 1974 and received an Honorable Discharge. At an early age, Scott married Virginia Brown, his childhood sweetheart, and from this union one child was born, Sherée. Scott had an unwavering faith in God, community, and family. Scott was a true “Evanstonian.” Growing up he was an active member of the Gay Blades Drum and Bugle Corps, as a drummer, the Boy Scouts, and claimed Foster Center as his second home. In his leisure, Scott enjoyed roller skating, drawing, and writing. He was an avid artist, and a muse of poetic composition with exquisite penmanship.
Because of his charisma, charm, and giving spirit, Scott was well known and loved by all whose path he crossed.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents.
Scott is survived by his loving daughter Sherée Williams; grandchildren, Serenity Williams, and Felipe Williams Jr; his father Samuel Jones, Sr.; his brothers Keith (June) Jones Sr., Samuel (Sherri) Jones II, and sister Crystal Lloyd; his Uncle Jim (Evelyn) Gary, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
