Wesley Colville Powell (Papa) was born on June 29, 1935 in the small town of Top Hill, Manchester. His parents, Gladys and Ezekiel Powell, settled in the town and were farmers. Wesley was the fourth of five children namely Hermine, Kirlew, Catheris, Wesley and Bunneto. Wesley was especially close to his father, Ezekiel Powell and his sister Hermine Nelson. He always spoke fondlt of all the good times they spent together. Wesley was a very hard worker, a farmer, a business man and a butcher, He worked for Ministry of Agriculture in Grove Place, Manchester.
Westley first met Cynthia in the late 1950's in Bluntie where they were both working. They later moved and resided inGrove Place, Manchester. Wesley always said that marrying Cynthis was the best decision he ever made. The union produced nine beautiful children Delroy, Paul, Everol, Michelle, Jasette, Ovis, Orville, Coleen, and Nadia. Wesley lived his life as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great gradnfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his mother/father, sister Catheris, and brother Bunneto. He is survived by his wife, nine children, two sisters, and nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
