Lornette Jamerson Atwell affectionately know as “Nikki” was born in Chicago, IL . December 12, 1974. Nikki was the daughter of Mother Eloise Steele and William Jamerson.
Nikki graduated from Evanston Township High School. She proudly served her community with City Years Chicago. Nikki earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Loyola University Chicago. Nikki spent her formative years as a special education teacher at Saint Joseph Child Carondolet in Chicago, IL and at Kolmar Elementary in Midlothian, IL. She was a devoted teacher to her students for over 10 years.
Nikki was a loving mother to her son Reagan and twin brother Theodore. She is survived by her mother, Mother Eloise Steel, son, Reagan, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nikki leaves behind countless friends whose lives she enriched. She was preceded in death by her father, Williams Jamerson and her son Theodore.
Nikki grew up attending Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. She proudly sang in the children’s choir. During her adult life, she served her church, in Chicago Community, as a Sunday School Teacher and a Youth Group Leader.
Nikki passed on February 17, 2019. She will be missed by all who knew her.
