Ms. Edna Mae Sanders was born in Parkdale, Arkansas to Mary Lee Webb Sanders and Moses Sanders on June 6, 1952. She was the youngest of her siblings.
Edna attend Savage Elementary School in Arkansas and graduated from Eudora High School in Eudora, Arkansas. She attend Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. Edna enjoyed acting and was involved in the theater in college. She was also a very active volunteer on and off campus at Philander Smith College.
Edna accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Rain Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Edna moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1974 and lived with her aunt Hosea Lewis. She worked at Combined Insurance in Chicago for almost 13 years as a Quality Assurance/Computer Program Analyst. Edna worked for Anixter in Glenviewas a Quality Assurance Specialist for the last twelve years, until her death. In addition to the theatre, she loved to travel and belonged to a group that called themselves the “Buy and Travel” Club.
Edna attended Second Baptist Church for many years before joining in 2010. She was very active with the Christian Missions Ministry and was the secretary on the Trustee Board. Edna was involved with the Interdenominational Missionary Union of Evanston and served as the corresponding secretary.
Edna is survived by her sister, Ezzie Mae McClinton, Pine Bluff, AK; one brother Rashid Elamin, Chicago, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
