Albert Felix Gavilan was born in Dangriga Town, Belize on April 8, 1935 to Seferina Caliz and Walford Gavilan.
He emigrated to the United States in the 1970's where he made a very good life for himself. Though educated at the Belize Trade Technical School in Belize City, he also took courses in the U.S. to further his life experiences and employability. He was employed at Sears Dept. store for 30 years while living here in the Chicago area.
He was a member of the Free Masons in Belize and which carried over to the U.S. He was known by many and was considered a true friend. Albert was kind and shared all of his wealth with many charities. His family and friends have been blessed to have had him in their lives; and will be truly missed.
Mr. Albert Felix Gavilan was the father of Nelcia Gavilan (Nel) and Charlotte Gavilan Perrera (Char).
He was preceeded in death by his brother, Delson Gavilan; his son, Mark Gavilan (Markie); his grandson, Nigel; his mother, Seferina Caliz; and his father, Walford Gavilan.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Sonia Gavilan; the mother of his daughter Charlotte, Carrie McKoy; his daughters, Nelcia and Charlotte; his grandchildren, Albert, Cache, Marquis, Malik and Tyreek; his two great grandsons, Ajani and Kanigel; his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and many friends. He also will be fondly remembered by his special nieces, Regina Caliz and Marie Newman who helped care for him. He will also be missed by Andre, family friend, who was there to assist with many tasks. Please keep the family in your prayers.
