Throughout his life, Scott was a successful entrepreneur and self-employed professional. He established and ran several businesses, where he became known for his versatility as a leader. His profession allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life, and he made an impact everywhere he went with his strong work ethic, mentoring spirit, and compassion for helping others. Beyond his professional endeavors, Scott was passionate about sports. Growing up, he played several different sports, including ice hockey, wrestling, and baseball. Later in life, he transitioned his love for playing sports into softball and became an avid golfer. He also found great joy in coaching, especially when coaching his son’s baseball teams. Scott’s family was at the heart of everything he did. He was a devoted father to his three children and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His passion and connection to his fraternity remained strong throughout his life. He could often be seen proudly wearing his fraternity’s colors, purple and gold, while participating in community service projects. His commitment to his family and his devotion to his friends painted a picture of a man who lived a life full of purpose, love, and joy. His friendships were deep, genuine, and filled with care. He had an ability to crack a joke, put a smile on people's faces, and always lend a hand to those in need, making him beloved by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Fred and Leila Hunter of Abbeville, South Carolina; his children Derek, Erin and Isaac Hunter of Evanston, Illinois; his brothers Stuart (Joy) and Kenyon Hunter of Evanston, Illinois, and Gyata Kimmons (Leslie) of Flossmoor, Illinois; his nephew, Trumaine Hunter-Ceruti (Justyn) of Sarasota, Florida; four nieces, Alesia Hunter of Evanston, KyRen Hunter of Richardson, Texas, Layla and Morgan Kimmons of Flossmoor, Illinois; one great niece Maya Lynn Hunter-Ceruti and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will forever rejoice in his memory. Scott Hunter, affectionately known as Scott, Scotty or Aubs, was born on September 25, 1966, in Evanston, Illinois to Fred and Leila Hunter. Scott passed away on January 26, 2025. He leaves behind a profound legacy of love, laughter, and service to his family, friends, and community. Scott graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1984 and continued his education at the Historically Black College and University, Lincoln University, in Jefferson City, Missouri. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics at Lincoln University, where he was introduced to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Scott became a proud member of the fraternity, committing himself to its core values of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift.
