J.C. Jemison Obituary

J.C. Jemison Jr. was born on July 22, 1938 at Druid City hospital in Tus~aloosa Alabama to the late J C Jemison Sr. and Annie Jemison. While growing up in Tuscaloosa, JC developed a great love for baseball and golfing; and was known throughout his hometown for his athletic talent and accomplishments in baseball.

As a teen JC attended and graduated Industrial High School where he would meet the love of his life Annette Jemison. As the two became inseparable, . they would later move to Evanston, IL in 1962, where they would spend 58 loving years together creating long lasting memories. \Vhile in Evanston, JC became an employee of Wilmette Pharmacy where he would serve as a dedicated employee and colleague for over 40 years. As an avid sports fan, JC loved to spend time with friends and family watching and discussing various sporting games/ events.

J.C. was known for his outgoing personality and the ability to make a friend anywhere he went. During his early years in Alabama, his friendly nature earned him the nickname "Buddy Man"; and friends and family also gave him the nickname "Bud" and "Tex." \'(!hile living in Evanston, Je's nieces and nephews affectionately called him "Uncle]", and would look forward to his presence at every family gathering and celebration. " Life didn't slow down for JC in his senior years as he continued to travel freguently back home to Alabama to spend time with family and friends as well as various outings with his loving wife Annette. He was also able to enjoy his retirement years participating in annual golf tournaments with his friends. \Vhile home in Evanston,JC enjoyed spending time with and socializing with many friends and family, and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever asked. Je's humor, laughter, and bright personality.

J.C. is preceded in death by his wife, Annette Jemison; father JC Jemison Sr.; his mother Annie Jemison; two sisters, Marie James and Mary C Jemison; nephews, Anthony and David "Mann" Jemison, and James "Pogo" Legrone; and sister-in-Law, Marie Jefferson.

J.C. leaves to cherish his memory his Goddaughter, LakariaJones whom he was given the honor of being the God-Father to. He also leaves to cherish his memory nephews, Robbie James, Larry, Greg, David, Michael, and Darnell Jefferson; cousin Barbara Hurst; sister-in-law Helen Legrone; nieces Andrea and Consetta Legrone, Katie Legrone-Jones (Robert), Brenda Jones (Willie), and Mamie (Marion) Woodfork., as well as a host of many other great nieces, great nephews, relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly. Please keep the family in your prayers.
