Albert Allen Strong Jr., affectionately known as "Sonny" was the middle child born to Gladys Richardson and Albert Strong, Sr. He was born in Evanston, Illinois
on June 14, 1941, educated in the Evanston Public School system, and attended Friendship Baptist Church in his youth. After a brief stint in the United States Air Force, Sonny returned home and worked several occupations, including a cook at Northwestern University and a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service from which he retired in 1978.
Sonny was active in his community both socially, as a member of The Esquires and the Untouchables Motorcycle Club, and civically as a member of the Evanston Wild Bunch and as a community aide. He enjoyed fishing, music, cars and was especially fond of drag racing, spending many days each summer at Union Grove raceway in Wisconsin with the E-Town Racers.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his younger brother Michael John Strong and a son, Garrett Logan. Sonny leaves to cherish his memories his wife Dorothy; two sons, Randall Logan Sr., Allen Strong Sr.; two daughters, Lisa (Dock) Cannon, Michelle Strong; two
sisters, Arneta (Richard) Young and Angelique Brown; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews, and extended family. Please keep the family in your prayers.
