Mr. Charlie Hall Obituary

Charlie Ceal Hall, was born into this life on February 21, 1937 and ascended into eternity on May 25, 2020. He was born in Covington, GA to the union of the late Roscoe and Gertrude Hall.
Charlie was the baby boy of the family and the last of twelve children, eleven of whom preceded him in death. While growing up in Georgia, he was educated in the Covington school system before eventually moving to Evanston, IL.
Charlie was united in marriage to Pecola Ann Perrin on May 11, 1957 in Waukegan and from this union, seven children were born, with Pecola and five of their children sadly preceding him in death.

While in Evanston, Charlie worked at Clayton Mark before moving on to work at the City of Evanston Water & Sewer Department, ending with his retirement in 1980 as a Foreman. Charlie loved the Chicago Cubs! He and his older sister Olivia would enjoy watching games together regardless of the outcome. Sadly, they weren’t able to finally enjoy the Cubs World Series win together. Charlie was also a lover of music, with everyone aware of his love for James Brown and gospel music (especially a quartet!). And though he loved “Pete” to no end, Charlie also loved Sade, frequently saying “that was his woman”.

After retirement, Charlie loved window-watching and sharing the news of the neighborhood with anyone who would listen. He kept an eye on visitors too and loved to loudly announce when family or friends were coming to visit. And that was his happiest place. Charlie loved having family come over to spend time with him and Pecola. And he kept a dollar or two for the grandkids, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pecola; his five Children: Lonnie, Audrey, Patrick, Jerome “Jerry,” Patricia “Pat”; his seven Sisters: Kate Hall, Olivia Mae Wilkerson, Ella Ruth Johnson, Mozell Hall, Annie Lois Lackey, Eula Turner, Doris Hall; and his four Brothers: Dude, James, Lawrence, Bill.
Charlie leaves to mourn his loss: a Daughter, Michelle Saintil (Benson) and a Son, Roland Hall; nine Grandchildren: Natasha, Michael (Vanessa), Kimbrince, Trasee, Tenisha, Brandon, Ryan, Trae, Maia; six Great Grandchildren: Corde, Serenity, Roman, Jordan, Christian, Syriah; four Great-Great Grandchildren: Corde Armani, Trae Jr., C’Yani. He also leaves to mourn several Nieces, Nephews, and a host of family and friends. Please keep the family in your prayers.
