Horick Vaughan was born on June 11, 1947, in the Parish of Clarendon, Jamaica WI, to parents Vickers and Marie Vaughan. He peacefully passed away in his sleep on February 5, 2024.
Horick graduated from primary school in Clarendon years after, he moved to Kingston Jamaica where he met and married, Monica. Together, they started a beautiful family. In the 1980s, Horick's sister Edna filed for him to move to Chicago where he would be able to work in order to provide a better life for his family. He began working at Walker Brothers Pancake House, to help support his family back home. ln Chicago, Horick discovered his passion for painting and carpentry, a craft that brought him joy and fulfillment. Through his hard work and dedication, he was able to bring his family to Chicago, where they made cherished memories together.
Horick was known for his vibrant personality and social nature. He enjoyed spending his free time cooking, hanging out at Tally-Ho or just spending time with his friends and family playing dominos. He enjoyed smoking cigars and dancing. His zest for life and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who knew him.
Horick is preceded in death by his parents, Vickers and Marie Vaughan, and his siblings: Hilda, Edna, Uriah, Lamlin, Wilmot, William, and Mary. Horick is survived by his former wife, Monica Vaughan and their children Loraine, Nicola, Teisha, and Ricardo, his grandchildren Lloyd Jr. "Theron", Ammonie, Theo, Ethan, and Madison, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Horick will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Please keep the family in your prayers.
