Mr. James Hamilton Obituary

James William Hamilton was born May 10, 1945, to the late James and Lottie Hamilton. He was the 4th born out of 4 children. He was the only son, and the baby of the family. James attended school in Evanston, IL and graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1963. He was involved in sports and lots of other activities during his childhood.

He played baseball and was recruited by the Baltimore Orioles, but his mother suggested that James not accept the offer. She later advised him to enlist in the military. He joined Friendship Baptist church at an early age and later joined Second Baptist Church in April 2016. James worked at the Pentagon and went to Beirut and helped install communication cables. He was a recruiting officer in the military and a Facilitator in AA. After serving 27 years in the military, he retired.

During his service, he received 5 medals: the Meritorious Service Medal, the Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, as well as the Korean/Army Service Ribbon. He loved playing cards, loved his music, and he travelled around the world 3 times.

On February 22, 2023, James was called home to be with the Lord. James is preceded in death by his parents James and Lottie Hamilton, grandmother Irene Tyler, Uncle Joseph Hamilton, Aunt Alice Hamilton, nephews Ronald Curry, and Robert Brown. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Theresa, a daughter Kymberli Parker and a son James Jr, as well as 3 precious grandchildren, his sisters Lillian Curry, Alyce Johnson and Merry Brown and a host of nieces and nephews, and one cousin Aissa Bell (Marc) and brother-in-law Bennett Johnson.
