Mr. Juan Romero Gibson

Mr. Juan Gibson Obituary

Juan Romero Gibson was born in Fulton, Missouri to Paul and Ida Mae Gibson. Juan was the middle child of two other siblings. Juan was baptized ;t St. James Methodist Church in Fulton, Missouri at an early age. After the death of both parents, he and his sister came to live with "Aunt Bea" in Evanston, IL.
 

He graduated in the class of 1972 from Evanston Township High School. While in high school he was very active in sports and loved his sports. He played football, basketball, and wrestled. He was very good in all of them. He loved to mimic OJ Simpson when he was running down the football field. On March 27, 2008, the 1971 football team in which he was a part of, were inducted into the Evanston Township High School Athletic Hall of Fame which he was very proud of. He also played semi-pro football for the Niles Saints out of Niles, Illinois and he played flag football for Free Easy Rams out of Evanston.

Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged after his service. Juan married twice in his life which BLESSED him with a
daughter, Juanita and a son, Juan II.

He was employed by Lieberman Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Skokie, IL. He worked there faithfully and was a loyal employee for twenty-five (25) years until his death. He was trying to master the art of karate after watching
Bruce Lee movies which he loved. He loved to dress and he loved carnations A private man of few words. He was a Mason. Juan was a respectful, humble, kind, sharing, supportive, caring, and giving person .• He was content and didn't let things worry
him. He believed in staying active and healthy. He also had a special spiritual gift that God blessed him with. He loved

God and was very prayerful and thankful about everything. Although unexpected and sudden to us, the Lord saw it best to call him home to be with him and his many other loved ones.

Juan was preceded in death by both his parents Paul and Ida Mae Gibson; both sets of grandparents, David & Mary M. Gibson and Julius & Bessie M. Mason; brother, Paul D. Gibson; nephew, Ronald Walker II; aunt, Beatrice Phillips; uncle, Richard Mason; and cousin, Nicole "Cody" Mason.
To cherish his memories is his daughter Juanita Gibson; son Juan Gibson II (IL); grandson Jordan Caleb Gibson and granddaughter Viveca Angel Gibson; sister, Minister Sherry Gibson Walker (IL); uncles Franklin D. Mason (Peggy, FLA.) and Larry D. Mason (Algy, MO.); nephew and great
nephews; nieces and great nieces; cousins and friends.
