Mr. Melvin Dorsey

Melvin W. Dorsey better known as Melvo, "I do declare!" Was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 7W, 1960, to Janie Johnson and John 0. Dorsey. He attended the Brooklyn public school system until up until 1972, when his mother and siblings moved to Evanston, IL.

He then attended the public school system of Evanston until graduating from ETHS in 1978. He held various jobs after graduation trying to find his passion in life. He moved back to New York to work as a fashion designer at AJ Bari with no formal education and excelled. While working in the fashion world he found another talent and became extraordinarily great and enthusiastic about being a barber.

He later returned to Evanston to be closer to his mother and pursue his dreams of being a fabulous barber while never leaving behind his unhinged fashion sense.

He is preceded in death by his father John Osborne Dorsey, brother John Melton Dorsey, and his beloved daughter dog Gina. He will be greatly missed by his mother, siblings, Godson, and host of family and friends. ​Please keep the family in your prayers.
