Nigel was born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 1, 1957, one of a set Of twins (Angelia) to Mary' Evangeline Wynter and Roy Ralston Wynter. Nigel had a love for "county" and spent much of his early years with his paternal grandmother in Trelawny. Nigel loved taking care of the farm animals and even had his own goat. In August 1973, Nigel migrated to the United States to be with his mom and siblings, He attended ETHS where he graduated in 1978.
Nigel was friendly and very outgoing, he knew more people than most and everyone in the area knew him. Nigel was very handy and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He also loved to cook and would quite often cook and invite many people in the neighborhood to eat. Angelia has vivid recollections of waking up at 4a.m. thinking, "what am I smelling?", then Nigel would respond affectionately, "Angelia, I'm cooking soup for you and me". Nigel was a painter and an all-around handy man. Nigel was employed by National Louis University and worked in the maintenance department for fifteen years.
In 2005 he met Carolyn Davis and in 2007 they married. From that union they had one daughter, Shaqueenah Wynter. Nigel truly loved all his siblings, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He had his own way of pronouncing their names and he was not going to change that, like "Sementer." Whenever Nigel would visit his sister's home, he would always say, "I can fix this for you Bev, or I can paint this for you." outpouring of love from so many classmates from high school and in the neighborhood is evidence of how much Nigel was loved by many. So many have said "Nigel was just a really nice guy."
Nigel was preceded in death by his father Ray, mother Macy, and daughter Shaqueenah. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his brothers David, Morris and Ray, and sisters Angelia, Beverly and Michelle, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends. Please keep the family in our prayers.
