Mr. Sylvester Marquise Boykin

Sylvester Marquise Boykin Sr. affectionately known as "Rock" passed away August 19,2020 at his home. Rock was born May 31, 1979 in Minneapolis, MN to Sylvester Boykin and Debra Bright. Rock attended school in MN and in IL. Rock and Tatiana met in 4th grade. He was her 5th grade sweetheart. They went their separate ways and Rock moved back to Minnesota. During that time Rock was blessed with two daughters, Sy'Leina and Sy'Deja who he loved with all his heart. Rock spent quality time with his girls taking them out for Father-Daughter lunches and dinners. He also took them to Duluth often to see their Grandma Debbie. In 2013 Rock reunited with Tatiana through Facebook. Rock moved to Evanston IL and married Tatiana Johnson on July 26, 2014. To that union two children were born, Sylvester Marquise Jr. nicked named Vesto by his dad and Samuel James known as Sammy. Rock was also blessed with a bonus child, Josiah Johnson who he nicked named Bartholomew, for reaso~s unknown. Rock loved his boys. If he wasn't working on the weekend you could usually find him at Chuck e Cheese or the park, grilling, blowing bubbles or throwing water balloons. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of six years and one month; Tatiana, his three sons; Sylvester Jr, Sammy and Josiah, his two daughters; Sy'Leina and Sy'Deja. His mother; Debra Bright, his father; Sylvester Boykin, his two sisters; Kena Boykin and Christine Grosbusch, one brother; Chazz Boykin and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
