Wilford Darcres otherwise known as Roy was born on June 4, 1952, to Albertha and Stanford Darcres in the rule district of Luna in St. Mary on the island of Jamaica.
Wilford met Annette over 51 years ago in Kingston. They got married on July 3, 1982. While living in Kingston he was a fisherman until he migrated to the United States in November 1984. Here he worked at the Lutheran General Hospital for 31 years up to the time of his retirement due to his failing health. He also worked at the Highland Park Hospital.
Wilford made his transition at the Evanston Hospital peacefully on November 13, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife Annette, three children; Barbara, Marion and Michael; five grandchildren Mark, AJ, Nya, Alexis and Hamilton, two great grandchildren Kamarie and Kash, Mother Alberta, five brothers; Kenneth, Charles, Ernest, Stanford and Ronald, ten sisters; Daisy-lyn, Irene,Dorene, Cicelyn, Violet, Valrita, Valrie, Iona, Cherita and Sonia, a host of uncles, aunts,nieces and nephews.
As we celebrate his life, we are thankful to the Lord for a life lived in honor, and for his dignified passing. Although we will continue to miss him, we can move forward on the wonderful memories we shared while he lived among us.
