Zeltee Edwards Jr, was born on December I 3, I 950 in Glenview, IL He was the first of three children to be born to Ethel Ophelia Edwards and Zeltee Edwards Ii His siblings Eric Edwards and Lisa (Johnson) Edwards completed the family of 5 Raised in Evanston, IL. Zeltee graduated from Evanston Township HS in 1968 Soon after he welcomed his first child Kimberly Lee (Smith) Edwards, who preceded him in death in 20I2.

After a brief enlistment in the United States Air Force, Zeltee began his career at the City of Evanston as a Meter Reader Although he was beginning to "rise the ranks" at the City of Evanston, Zeltee chose to simultaneously complete a Bachelor's Degree in History from Roosevelt University.

Zeltee was an elected member of the City Council in Evanston and after decades of service retired as the Head of Streets and Sanitation at the age of 55.

While achieving his professional goals, his family flourished after marrying Phyllis Marie Moorehead in I 982 This union was made complete with the births of Camille Renee (1983) and Zeltee Ill (1986)

Zeltee was an avid bowler, competing all over the country in his spare time, He loved to travel read Sci-A novels, and watch NASCAR races and watch Action and Sci-Amovies. His life and marriage came full circle on December 14, 2022 after a 5-year battle with dementia Thankfully this allowed him to be surrounded by his surviving children and wife for his 72nd birthday.

Zeltee leaves behind an immeasurable number of acquaintances, friends, family members and loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, daughter; Camille and son- Zeltee Brother; Eric Edwards (Shirley), sister; Lisa Johnson (Earnest) He also leaves behind three grandchildren- Devin DeRon Smith, Taylor Simone (Wade) Smith and Lumen Kimberly Giron as well as two great grandchildren- Madison and Carter Wade please keep the family in your prayers.
