Annette Allegra {South) Reid also affectionately known as "Ann" was born in Evanston, Illinois on May19,1959 to the late loving parents Harlan South, Sr. and Hazel South. Ann was the youngest sibling to her sister, Constance Howard and late brother, Harlan South, Jr.
She attended Skiles Junior High School and Saint Scholastica High School. ln1976, Ann met her best friend and the love of her life Robert Curtis "Corky'' Reid. ln 1981 Ann and Corky were united as one in marriage. To this union,three daughters were born, Melody Joyce, Candice Lynn and Cheri Ashley Reid. Ann and Corky had 45 + years of undeniable love for one another and were lifelong companions. You. never saw one without the other.
Ann worked most of her professional career in the dental field in which she had an interest in dentistry. ln early 2000's, she left her career to take care of her ailing mother. She had a big heart, compassion and always put others first. ln in the mid 90's Annette gave her life to the Lord at the Apostolic Church in Chicago, IL.
Ann was very talented in the arts. She was skilled in drawing portraits, sewing outfits and creating various art projects with her granddaughters. Her grandchildren gave her the name "LaLa". Ann also enjoyed line dancing with her daughter Candice and the Line Dance Divas. Through line dancing, Ann met many friends in which she was given the nickname "Grand Diva'.
On Saturday, April 29tit God said that Annette's work on earth was done. She went on to rest in heaven with her parents, Harlan South, Sr. and Hazel E. South and brother, Harlan South, Jr. who preceded her in death.
Annette leaves behind to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Robert "Corky" Reid, three daughters, Melody Reid, Candice Sayles (Lambert, Jr.) and Cheri Reid, four grandchildren, Lambert Cool Sayles, III, Kiaylah Lynae Sayles, Kailyn Lashae Sayles and Raelynn Diane-Marie Johnson, one great-granddaughter, Zaylah Amour Sayles, one sister, Constance Howard (Rev. Mark E.) of Hannibal, MO, one sister in-law, Wendy Clayton, two nephews, Norris Wills and Sean Hopson (Yvette), a special friend Vanessa Williams and a host of other loving family and friends.
