Barbara (Bobbi-Ann) Nelson Gray was born July 31, 1942, In Ecru, Mississippi. Bobbi was the baby girl of a family of 11 (four brothers and 6 sisters) to the late parents of Thomas Nelson and Laura Bell Nelson. Barbara excelled throughout her studies and once graduated from high school she relocated to Evanston, In hopes off in ding work opportunities and a better life.
After settling in Evanston, Barbara married Willie Gray (deceased) and raised 4 beautiful sons, David Nelson, Randy Nelson, Michael Gray, and Willie Gray. She became a devoted member of Springfield M.B Church where she sung in the Young Adult Choir. She later became a member of United Faith Baptist Church in Evanston and served until she became one of the original members of Christ Temple M.B Church. Barbara sang In the Christ Temple choir and served as a devoted and faithful member until her health began to fail her. However, if you talked to her about her church, it was no question about her love for her church and her pastor.
Barbara worked in the dry-cleaning Industry for over 40 years and once retired, she worked independently as a freelance housekeeper. Barbara was an ambitious woman that loved to spoil herself with shopping sprees which Included new shoes and clothes. She will be remembered for how she made folks feel in her presence. In addition, she will be remembered for her smile and sense of humor. Her six sisters and three brothers all have predeceased her.
Barbara leaves to mourn her passing; 4 sons, David (Therese) Nelson, Randy Nelson, Michael (Christina) Gray, and Willie (Josephine) Gray. A brother, Freddie Nelson. In addition, she leaves behind a host of
Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces, and her Church Family. Now at the end of her journey on this earth, she has gone home where she will rest from her labor in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Please keep the family in your prayers.
