Mrs. Beverly Williams-Usry was born to the late Howard and Alma Ray, of Meridian Mississippi, on October 2, 1953. In 1959, the family relocated to Evanston, IL where she attended Noyes Elementary, Oakton Elementary School, and Chute Middle School where she was a part of the first graduating class. She was a graduate of Evanston Township High School Class of 1972.
After graduating she attending nursing school and received her degree. She joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev L.M. Geter. She was a faithful member of the nurse’s board and supervisor of the junior nurse’s board. She later united with Christ Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Jerome Brown, and was one of the founding members. There she continued her work as a nurse, and later became a member of the missionary board, where the Rev. Kenneth E Cherry Sr. is now Pastor.
Her missionary work also led outside and included working at the homeless shelter Center for Public Ministry, and feeding the homeless which is still a service provided by Christ Temple today. She was also a part of the inter denominational group that included the missionary's city wide. On June 2, 1998 she was joined in union with Elmore Usry, in Sparta Georgia. Her loving husband was by her side until the very end. She departed this life on May 25, 2021 at 11:02pm.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Howard and Alma Ray. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Elmore Usry. Her loving daughter's Katrina Rhodes and Nicole Williams. Her devoted sisters Patricia Ray and Shirley Ray: Five beautiful grandchildren Diamond, Christepher, Deja’, Caleb, and Kalial. Special devoted sisters Linnie P Marshall, Stamphia Neal, Elizabeth Freeman, and Gail Dew: Her Goddaughter Latricia Johnson: Two special sons Charles Vance and Alonzo Williams: Three nieces LaDonnia (Charod), Shannon (Ernett), and Jessamy (Shalonda): Three nephews Earl, Timothy, and Steven: Four great nieces, six great nephews, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Please keep the family in your prayers.
