Carmen passed away peacefully from this life the evening of December 26,2021, after a decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life. Carmen was born in Guantanamo, Cuba, but was an Evanston Resident since 1971.
In 1986, after raising her children, Carmen and her husband, Charles, moved to the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago where she lived for the remainder of her life. Carmen had an infectious laugh that would brighten anyone's day. She liked making her own jewelry and crafts to gift to people. Singing songs in both Spanish and English especially calling family members on \their birthdays to sing "Happy Birthday". The love for
her family extended to Americanized sports as well. She got to witness the Cubs win the world series and six Chicago Bulls championships.
Carmen is survived by eight of her children, twenty-seven grandchildren, and her many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her
husband Charles and her son Carlos. Please keep the family in your prayers.
