Carmen Spence Madourie born on August 3, 1938 to Alexander Spence and Violet Gammell in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She also had a sister Madgelita Mair. Her parents and her Sister preceded her in death.
Carmen moved to Evanston, Illinois in 1967 where she proudly lived a life of hard work and joy. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, She had a contagious smile that would light up any room. To her family and many, she was a beautiful woman. Carmen had about 200 ways to cook chicken, and had a passion for dressing.
Carmen's favorite church song was, "Into My Heart".
On March 21, 2020, God called a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother home. She leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her husband Ancel Modurie, a son Derrick Riley, a daughter Rose Bennett. 7 Grandchildren, Latricia, Glenford, Nichola, Brittney, Brandon, Dee-Rick and Jasmin. 14 Great-grandchildren, a niece,
cousins and a host of friends and others who truly loved her and will
miss her.
