Carrie Aurellia (Murray) Smith, born in McCormick, South Carolina, was called home by the Lord on April 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with Dementia. She was born to the late Ulysses Murray and Eloise (Bell) Murray on July 14, 1938.
Carrie's journey began in Evanston, Illinois, where she moved at a young age with her parents and siblings in 1939. She graduated from Evanston Township High School, embarking on a journey of love and family. She met and married Glen Smith Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful life and raised three children: Glen Jr., Kathy (deceased), and Erica.
Carrie was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, finding solace and strength in the Pentecostal church. Her feisty spirit and zest for life was something she embraced. Carrie found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was nurturing her garden, showcasing her sewing skills, or exploring new destinations through travel. Above all, she cherished moments spent surrounded by her family and friends.
Carrie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is reunited in eternal peace with her husband, Glen Sr, daughter, Kathy, grandson, Adonis and siblings Barbara Jean, James, Uly and Stevie. She is survived by her loving brother Frederick Murray (Gwen), her son Glen Smith, Jr. (Kelly), her daughter Erica Schaeffer (Corey), her grandsons Ryan and CJ, her granddaughters Alexys and Mia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a multitude of extended family members and dear friends. Please keep the family in your prayers.
