Kathleen Robinson-Brown was born on February 29, 1928 in Clamstead District, Lime Hall, Saint Ann, Jamaica, passed peacefully on September 13, 2023 in Pearl of Evanston, IL. She was the first child of seven born to Alice and James Robinson. Kathleen was a strong, independent woman who was full of life and laughter.
She was a very good housekeeper and also an amazing seamstress and was known for her sharp eye for detail. She was a hardworking woman who dedicated to her family and her craft. Kathleen attended Lime Hall Primary School up to the 8th grade. After graduating, she became a seamstress and eventually found a job in the tourist industry for many years. She was married to Headly Brown and had four children, Cynthia, Dave, Trevor and Joan. Kathleen was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was always there for her children and grandchildren, offering her wisdom and support. She was a devoted wife and friend, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Kathleen was a strong believer in education and encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams.
She was an avid reader and loved to learn new things. Kathleen was a proud Jamaican who was passionate about her culture and heritage. She was a strong advocate for Jamaican culture and was always eager to share her stories and experiences with her family.
Kathleen migrated to the US in 1989 and was able to reunite with her family. She was able to spend the last years of her life surrounded by her loved ones. Kathleen was an amazing woman who touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and strength. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Joan; son, Trevor; her sisters; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Kathleen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul rest
