Mrs. Doreen Margaret Hicks

Doreen Margaret Breaker Rolfe was born to loving Ruby (Barrett) and Albert Breaker Rolfe on April 14, 1937 in Hornchurch, England. She was the third of eight children, two of whom preceded her in death ( Roy and Alan). 

Doreen's parents moved from Brentwood, England to Great Leighs before WWII where they were a farming family. Doreen attended Church School in Great Leighs, and High School in Brain Tree.

Doreen met William (Billy) in 1956 while he was serving in the U.S. Airforce. They were married in 1958 and raised there family in Evanston. IL. While raising her family Doreen worked for many years as a Retail Clerk. Their union produced four sons, Billy Jr. (Dona) of Racine, Wisconsin, Paul and Stephen Hicks of Evanston, IL. A loving son Alan preceded her in death.

She leaves two Sister-in-laws who she was very close to, Madelin Warlick of Waukegan, IL and Stella Eston (Arthur) of Wisconsin. She leaves nine beloved grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of loved ones nieces and nephews.

Doreen leaves to cherish her memory in England three beloved sisters; Mrs. Pauleen Bently of Brain Tree, Mrs. Valerie Childs of Great Leighs and Mrs. Penelope (Penny) Dosset of Brain Tree. Two brothers; Ronald Breaker Rolfe of Brain Tree and Peter of Loundon, England. She leaves a very special cousin Mrs. Avril Fox of the Isle of Wight.

Gods Garden Must Be Beautiful

God looked around the garden and found and empty space.

He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful, for he only takes the best.

He knew you were weary, and He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never be on earth again.

He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hill were hard to climb.

So He closed your weary eyelids, and whisphered 

"Peace be thine"
