Dorothy Ann Liner was born on January 2, 1940 in Florence, Alabama. She was the first daughter born to Emily and Will Liner Sr. Dorothy was called home by the angels on June 29, 2021. Dorothy was educated in the Florence City Public School System and graduated from Burrell
Slater High School in 1958. She relocated to Evanston, Illinois at the age of 18. Dorothy was employed by Shure Brothers Inc., and after 38 dedicated years, she retired.
On December 22, 1958 Dorothy married Lernorne B. Cole. From their union seven children were born; Cheryl, Rosalyn, Ruth, Allison, Lemorne Jr., William and Teresa. Dorothy was affectionately known as Dot by family and close friends, Mommy by her kids and Mom-My by her grand kids and great grand kids. To know her was to love her. Dorothy always put family first. She was sassy, strong, loving, giving and caring. She always kept it real and said
what was on her mind whether you asked her or not. She was very funny, whenever she was
around you were bound to laugh.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Will Sr. and Emily Liner, three children; Cheryl, Lemorne Jr., Allison, sister; Martha, four brothers; John (Anna Bertha), Jimmy Frank, Will Jr. (Wilder), Emmitt (Wylodene), two sisters- in-law; Verna and Judith, and mother and father-in-law Robert and Ruth Cole.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 63 years; Lemorne Sr. of Evanston, IL, children; Rosalyn, Ruth, William (Tammy), Teresa (Robert) daughter-in-law; Donna, grand kids; Angel (Shingirai) William (Krystal) Lemorne III, Darius, Jalil, Jasira, Tyrone, Porsche, Douglas,
great grand kids; Nadir, Kamilah, Rihighna, Christopher, Dashaun, Jayden, Kayla, Angel, Andre, Nayvia, Elijah, Madelyn and Messiah. Sisters; Frances (Donnie]), Mary Faye, brothers; Charles (Ruth), Larry sister-in-law; Georgia, brother-in-law; James. The Liner, Reeves, Jaggers, Payton, Winston, Wilson, Fleming, Gresham, Scott Families; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends please keep the family in your prayers.
