Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Jordan

Elizabeth Ann Jordan was born on April 13, 1952 in Evanston, Illinois to Berdell and Swancy Kennedy who proceeded her in death. She was the first of six children from Berdell Kennedy. At an early age she accepted Christ, later in life she joined Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Zollie Webb until her death.

Elizabeth received her education within the Evanston School System. She graduated from high school in 1970 from Evanston Township High School.

Elizabeth was known well known as the storyteller of the family. As she would tell stories of her childhood and work. She had a successful job working as a security officer at Evanston Township High School. She later retired after completing 27 and a half year. She was known for being hardworking and strong after fighting her battle with breast cancer in 2001.

Elizabeth was the proud mother of three children, grandmother to ten and great-grandchildren. She treasured every moment in her role as Granny and showed her grandchildren with love and affection. Elizabeth passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021 at Glenbrook Hospital. She is survived by her three children;  Cindy Jordan, Otis Dejournette (Cheryl) of Nashville, TN, April Dejournette (Erik) of Skokie, IL. Her five siblings: Lina Kennedy (proceeded)her in death, Keren Elliott, Jerry (Janet) Kennedy, Vanessa (Joseph) Spears, and Swancy Kennedy, Jr. all of Evanston, IL. 15 step siblings. Her ten grandchildren; Jasmine, Ashley, Lilian, Dorothera, Trevaughn, Travarues, Elizabeth, Erik Jr., Ryan, and Amerie. Three great grandchildren; Bay 'Lee, Zayvire, and Jacobi.
