Mrs. Elnora Cook Obituary

Elnora Cook-Graves was born on October 26, 1959, in Addox, Georgia to Barbara Cook and George (loe) Baker, and moved to Evanston, IL at a young age. She attended Evanston Township High School and would later become a licensed cosmetologist. It was during her teen years that she would meet the love of her life, Clyde W Graves, Jr. They would spend the next 45 years together building their family and raising their 2 children, Shana and Clyde Will. A timeless love story that would conquer all obstacles and trials during those years. She was an amazing wife and mother.

Elnora gave her I ife to God in her early adult years and was an active mem ber of Bethel A.M.E. Church where she would serve on the Usher Board for many years. During her lifetime, she battled fiercely with sickle cell anemia and though it would often cause plans to be changed, it never changed her zeal for life and her ability to love. She was an amazing artist, creating pictures and making crafts. She loved nature and could always find beauty in her surroundings.

But her real passion was taking into her heart those who were often left behind, and caring for them so deeply and completely that they would be changed for the better in life. Elnora's life was dedicated to the care and keeping of all who came her way. While she
raised her own children, she selflessly lent a hand in caring for generations of chilren who would all grow to love her. Whether they needed a meal to eat, a place to stay, a shoulder to cry on, or a quiet conversation in her calming presence, she was always there. This is what brought her great happiness- the smiles, achievements, and growth of those she loved so deeply.

Elnora raised, fed, and even provided shelterto all those that needed her in their lives. Nieces, nephews, neighbors, family friends and even total strangers. Her gift and legacy is that she could love anyone without judgment and could always see the goodness in adults
and children that they often couldn't see in themselves.

Elnora was preceeded in death by her mother, Barbara Cook. She is survived by her husband, Clyde W Graves, lr.. her children, Shana Graves and Clyde W Graves, III., Siblings, Alexander Smith (Cupcake), Barbara Smith (Blake), Inez Smith (Dennis), Grandchildren,
Clyde W Graves, IV, Tanaejah, Kashearn, Johnny, Ny'f\ejah, and Nahmeer.
Please keep the family in your prayers.
