Glenda Patrick-Minter was born July 4, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the eighth child of nine born to the late parents Samuel and Myrtle Mccord. Seven children preceded her in death. She departed this life on February 28th, 2022, of a massive heart attack which was unsuspected for the family in her home at the age of 77 years old and is truly missed.
She received her education in Nashville Tennessee but later attended Evanston Township where she graduated in 1963 and had some college experience at Oakton Community college in Skokie, IL. She worked at GD Searle in Skokie, IL as an Executive Secretary and later retired from the Food Service Department at North Chicago Naval Base. Family and friends who knew her well called her "Mama G" for short, and her favorite saying was always "I don't think so"!
She was preceded in death by her daughter Coletta Giles-Sullivan (1965-2013). Her life is witnessed by her loving and devoted son's Darrell McCord (Sharon) and Anthony Giles (Linda); loving and devoted brother Herman McCord of Loxachette, Florida; adopted son Christopher Hobbs (Stephanie); loving grandchildren; Martez McCord~ Kevin Williams, Kenneth Kelly, LaToya Kelly, Antonio Giles, Pierre Giles, Monique Allen and Brittany Giles and host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends, please keep the family in your prayers.
