Helen Earlene Lane was born in Weir, Mississippi on April 20, 1934. She was the 12th child of the late Sammy Murphy and Fannie Seawood. Helen was united in marriage to the late Charles Dochier II and from this union one child was born, Charles (Mann) Dochier III. Affectionately known to many as "Sis," she married the late Wade Lane. From this union four children were born; John Earl, Mae Helen, Shirley and Mary Ann.
She joined St. Peters F.B.H Church in 1960 under the leadership of Rev. L. J. McCracken. She was a member of the choir and enjoyed helping her sisters in the communion services. Helen was a devoted, active member of St. Peters until her health failed her.
She retired from Mary Haven Nursing Facility after 20 years of employment. She loved life and made the most of everything this world had to offer. Helen had a kind heart and would open her door to anyone who was in need.
