Kenya Elizabeth Roach, daughter of the late Annette Clifton and James Mayes was born May 20, 1973 in Evanston, IL.
Kenya attended Evanston Township Highschool. She enjoyed dancing and cheerleading during her childhood. Kenya was a kind woman who loved taking care of others and working with children.
Kenya was a family - oriented woman that loved her children dearly and was very proud of their accomplishments.
Kenya was high spirited with an infectious smile that can brighten up a room. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her loved ones. She also loved her lifetime movies and soap operas.
Kenya passed on August 10, 2021 at the young age of 48.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her loved ones.
She was predeceased by Annette Clifton, James Mayes, Patricia Walls, and Clemmie Walls Sr. She is survived by husband Henry Yates, children Jermani Gaines, Courtney Yates, Whitney Yates, Henry Yates, Hayley Yates, Chanea Brooks; Norman Brown; sisters Rochelle Fuller, Sharrelle Roach - McGee brothers Derek Roach, Nelson Roach, Charles "Butchie" Roach, Johnny Roach; cousins Crystal Walls, Clemmie Walls; mother in law Edwina Yates; sister in laws Kimberly Yates (best friend), Angela Yates, Alisha Yates - Whittaker, Kaaron Whiteside, Cheryl Whiteside, Xenia Roach, Tonette Mackins - Roach; brother in laws Anthony Fuller, Jimmy McGee, Gregory Whiteside, Walter Whiteside; and a host of devoted family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
