MOTHER MARVELL GRACE
Her Birth
Mother Marvell Grace was born on September 13, 1933, to Edgar and Florence Miller in Lexington, Ms. She was
the youngest of nine children, (Edgar, Luther, Curtis, Inez, Vidalia, Annie Mary, Florence) of which seven
preceded her in death.
Her Life
She was educated at Saints Industrial School/College Lexington, Ms. She was united in holy matrimony to the
late Andrew L Grace on June lSth,19Sl. To this union were born five children --three sons and two daughters.
Preceding her in death was her husband of over 60 years of marriage.
Her Church Life
Mother was born into the third generation of holiness in the Church of God in Christ, and she steadfastly
remained a member until her demise. She gave her life to Christ in her youth at the St. Paul Church of God in
Christ under the leadership of Elder W.A. Patterson Pastor Bishop C -H Mason founder
In 19S1 She along with her husband, her sister Florence and her husband moved to Evanston, Illinois where they
united with Williams Temple Church of God in Christ under Bishop Williams. Later Mom and Florence united
with Faith Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Carliss Moody Sr who later ascended to
the office of Bishop. Afterward, she along with her husband retired and relocated to Memphis, TN where they
attended Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ under the late and Former Presiding Bishop GE
Patterson. After the death of her husband, she returned to Evanston to reunite with her dear Sister Florence and
her home church Faith Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder Carliss Moody Jr where she
served on the Mothers Board until her demise. Mother Grace was a woman of great wisdom and a natural gift to
bring laughter into the life of many. On many occasions, she quietly counsels younger women on how to train
their children and honor their husbands. She expressed many times that her prayer hour was 3:00 a.m. each
morning.

Her Departure
Mother Marvell Grace after 87 blessed years, fell asleep in the arms of the Savior on the afternoon of April 4, 2020
She loved and was devoted to her family. Her labor of love will always be remembered by her church family and
those that she served.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her Children, Andrew Leon Jr. (Beverly), Dianne Jamison (Theodore),
Cordelia Scott (Dallas) Elder Bernard (Terri), Carl Erwin one Sister Mother Florence Johnson, and a dear
niece/sister Faye Hollingsworth; 11 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, Cousins, Faith
Temple Church family, and a host of Saints and friends
