Mrs. Mary Forrester

Mary Rebecca Forrester, nee Palmer, our beloved mother, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in Margate, Florida. She was seventy-four. Her funeral services will be held at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ on December 21, 2022, with the Reverend Carolyn Jenkins providing words of comfort. Viewing is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by service at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and then final resting place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Thompson Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. will handle the funeral arrangements. Miss Mary (also affectionately known as Mims, Blems, May, Mimbly) was born in Jamaica, W.I, to Gloria H. Gordon and Vincent Palmer on September 26, 1948. She was seventy-four.

Miss Mary attended New Green all age school in Manchester, Jamaica and earned an associate degree in clerical education before migrating to the US in 1978. She had a long and rewarding career at Films Incorporated, UPS and Oakton Community College before retiring to Florida in 2020. She enjoyed spending time with her family – every Thanksgiving was a must, reading her bible (every day sitting at the kitchen table), and fellowshipping with her church family.

Miss Mary was best known for her hard-working ethics, friendly and welcoming personality, passion for traveling (especially going on cruises) and a generous spirit. She was a woman of God and an active member and pillar of Fresh Anointment Worship Center where she was a founding member. She’s preceded in death by her mother Gloria Gordon, father Vincent Palmer, brother Dwight Palmer and sister Floris Palmer.

Miss Mary is survived by her six children (and spouses): Edmarine Roberts, Rich Roberts (Wendy), Lennox Forrester (Racquel), Neville Forrester (Andrea), Fuchsia Forrester (Titus), Ferron Forrester (Charles); sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, sister Genevee Palmer-Thomas, brothers Howard Gordon, Jeffert Palmer, Winston Palmer, and Lawrence Palmer, and several nieces and nephews. Please keep the family in your prayers.
