Merry Noel Hamilton Brown was born December 25, 1943, in Evanston Illinois. She was the third of four children born to the late James and Lottie Hamilton.
Merry attended school in Evanston and graduated from ETHS in 1961. She worked at numerous jobs, including at Washington National Insurance Company for over 15 years.
Merry joined Second Baptist Church in 1996. She enjoyed singing in the Senior Choir and the Women's Day Choir. She also worked in the soup kitchen from time to time.
Merry enjoyed helping people. On the holidays she always had a lot of people over her house. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people.
Merry enjoyed keeping and caring for other people's children. The neighborhood kids enjoyed coming over her house. Whenever she grew tired of the kids, they loved her famous saying. "l have good news and I have bad news; the good news is you don't have to go home but the bad news is you got to get out of here". God has called her home.
Merry was preceded in death by her son Robert Brown along with his children Kimberly and Robert Brown Jr, Father James Hamilton, Mother Lottie Hamilton, grandmother Golden Irene Tyler, her only brother James Hamilton, nephew Ronald Lee Curry, and niece Colette Smith.
Merry leaves to cherish her life her children Michael Wayne Hamilton, Lisa Irene Brown-Hilton, Mark Anthony Brown, Jeffrey Alan Swansey, and daughter in-love Shelly Swansey. Eight Grandchildren, four Great-Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Merry also leaves behind her beloved sisters Lillian Irene Curry, Alyce Marie Johnson, and brother in-law Bennett Johnson.
