Monique Demetriz Morris joined us in this life on March 4, 1975. As a child, Monique was inquisitive, mischievous, intelligent, and the
“baby” of the Morris family. As the daughter of an educator, Monique learned to read and write at an early age. She accepted Christ in her life
at an early age and began her walk with God. Monique was a choir member and attended church several days a week as a child.
Monique tested into Keller Gifted Elementary School and participated in the gifted seventh and eighth-grade program at Morgan Park High School. Monique graduated one year early from high school and left home to attend college at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. While at
Purdue, she and ten other women became members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Rho Chapter on February 4,
1996. The 11 members of Allure enjoy a steadfast bond of friendship and sisterhood.
Monique completed her Bachelor’s degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. She earned a Master’s degree in
Business Administration in Health Care Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University. She obtained a
position as the Director of Physician Services at Swedish Covenant Hospital of Chicago and worked there for several years. In 2012, she
earned a second Master's degree in Medical Informatics from her mother's alma mater, Northwestern University. In 2016, she accepted
the position as Identity and Access Manager for Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
