Neresa Rose Thomas was born on April 26, 1947 to the late Iris & Uriah Thomas in the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 9, 2021. In her early years, Neresa attended Long Road All Ages School. She then moved to Kingston and started her family. She was the mother of three sons, Gary, Wayne and Garfield moved to the United States in 1980 and found employment as a caretaker helping the sick and elderly. She went on to work at Lutheran General Hospital until her retirement.
Neresa had three loves in her life. First, and at the top of her list, was her love of family. Her three sons and grandchildren were always at the heart of everything she did. She worked tirelessly to ensure her sons could come to America in hope for a better life. In 1986 her dream came true and all three sons received naturalization to live as permanent residents in the United States. This was a big moment for her. Second was her love for people. Neresa never passed up an opportunity to help someone. If someone was in need, she would find ways to help. She was kind and gentle to everyone she came in contact with. Third was her love of the Lord. She taught her children to love others, treat others with respect and care, never forget where you came {rom, and always remember to whom much is given much is expected.
Neresa was always giving, even when she didn't have, she would make promises. Neresa returns home to join her mother and father, Iris & Uriah, and brother, Ben. She leaves to cherish her memories sisters, Yvonne, Sister, Norma & Monica, brothers, Stafford, Clinton & Nugent, and sons, Gary, Wayne & Garfield, her grandchildren, juvon, LaToya, Sean, Tyler, Helene, Tatiyana, Isaiah, Teniyah, Lauren & Gisele, and 8 great- grandchildren.
