Phyllis Ianthe Buck (nee Brathwaite) was born in Barbados on December 7th,
1931 to Edith and James Alexander Johnson. Phyllis passed on Monday, March

Phyllis migrated to the u.s. in December 1967, where she met Barry. They fell in
love and married two years later, in December of 1969. They celebrated their 51st

Phyllis worked at Three Oaks Nursing Home. She attended Evanston High School
by night, going on to obtain a B.S. degree, which qualified her to become

teaching arts and crafts, and sewing. She even made Barry's clothes, including suits.
She could make anything. She worked twenty five years until her retirement.
Over the years Phyllis was challenged with many health issues, but she kept defying
the odds, right up until the end. She stood up for what was right. She was never
