Vernon was born February 10, 1934, affectionately known as "T" and was the third oldest of 14 children born to Lesere and Millard Sudduth in Attala County, Sallis, Mississippi. Vernon had a beautiful singing voice and regularly sang at Mill Spring Baptist Church her home church. Upon moving to Chicago, Illinois, she joined St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, located in the South Shore area. She attended public elementary schools in Sallis and graduated from Tipton High school in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She also attended MC College in Kosciusko and there she gained skills in keypunching and other related accomplishments where she became an Assistant Vice President while working at the Chicago Board of Trade in Chicago, Illinois.
Vernon married Willie Clyde Moore and to this union two children were born, Beverly and Eric. She had a loving relationship with her children. Sadly, Willie Clyde and Eric preceded her in death.
Vernon loved to attend family gatherings, especially during the holidays and would bring her signature dishes for everyone to enjoy. No one could make three cheese macaroni and cheese like she could. Vernon also loved to play hand-held games and playing cards with her family and friends. Some of her other favorite hobbies included sewing, knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans, blankets and the cutest baby clothes.
After Vernon retired from the Chicago Board of Trade, she dedicated her time to visiting and caring for her family. Vernon will be deeply missed and forever be loved by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Beverly, granddaughters Andrea and Aja and grandson Eric Jr., along with her siblings and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, Lesere and Millard Sudduth preceded her in death and the siblings that preceded her in death are: Wingard (Jim), Pearlene (Toot), Ellie (June), Lavorn (Buster) and Robert (Janke). The remaining siblings are: Asalean Coleman (Lean), Emma (Oliver) Ruff, Jesse (Bubba) Sudduth, Marjorie Dodd, Ann (Thomas) Hull, Willie (Joe) Davis, Linda Bobo and Hope Sudduth. Please keep the family in your prayers.
