Ms. Doris Malone Obituary

Doris Jean Malone was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 5,1952 to the late Rufus, Sr., and Lucille Malone. Doris attended Dunbar Elementary School in Memphis, TN and completed her education in the Evanston Public School System. She had a passion for cooking, and while living in Atlanta, GA, she attended a culinary school to enhance her skills, using family recipes that were passed down and adding her own flair to them. Doris worked security at Loyola University for many years and then the Coca-Cola Company until retirement. Receiving Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1972 she became a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Christ, where she was baptized by the late Rev. Dr. William L. Bransford. She sang in the young adult choir, and later years when able, worked with the Homeless ministry. Always known for her love for cooking and creating recipes, grilling, watching football, and spending quality time with her family, she especially loved making holidays and other ~. gatherings special for everyone. Doris was affectionately known as "Tee Tee" by her many nieces and nephews and enjoyed going out to dinner with them and holding rap sessions to hear what was going on in their lives. She also enjoyed traveling to Memphis, TN to spend time with the family members there. Doris departed this earthly life peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Rufus, Sr., and Lucille Malone; brothers, Clinton Malone and Frankie Malone, Sr.; sister, Minnie Harris; sister-in-law, Ann Malone; and niece, Linda Baptist. She leaves to cherish her memory; five brothers, Pastor Julius R. Malone of Menomonee Falls, WI, Rev. Rufus (Bobbie) Malone of Tupelo, MS, Melvin (Rae) Malone, Carl (Cheryl) Malone, Rodney Terrell Malone; one sister, Vicki (Rodney) Love; brother-in-law, Ellis Harris; sister-in-law, Juliette Malone; godsons, Sean and Allen Love, all of Skokie, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends. Doris had an abundance of love for Christ and was a kind, humble and fun-loving person. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend. Doris will forever be in our hearts.
