Rev. Ms. Rosemarie Green Obituary

Rosemarie Green was born on March 18. 1962 in savannah, Georgia to the union of Rosemary and Robert Green. Rose was the second oldest child of the four children born to this union She graduated from Windsor Forest High school in 1982. During her high school years, her leadership skills were displayed as she participated in several organizations: Student council - secretary, Vice President; Interclub council chairperson; student Advisory Board. Rose was selected as Who's  Who Among American High school students. During her senior year of high school, she was formally introduced into "society,' duririg the 1982 Debunutante Ball. After high school, Rose attended Purdue Universit in West Lafayette, Illinois and graduated with a B.S. from the College of Pharmacy.

"Growing up in two landmark churches, Second African Baptist church (213+ years old) of Savannah, Georgia and Second Baptist Ch;.li (136 years old) of Evanston, Illinois, had a majoi influence on the road ahead for Rose. Her dear grand uncle, Reverend Edger Perry Quarterman faithfully served as the pastor of Second African Baptist Church for some 34 years. He was a man with pastor's heart who graduated from Howard University School of Divinity and studied every summer at Princeion Theological seminary. Reverend Q' as he was fondly called him, trained, mentored, and pastored pastors in the Savannah area. when Rose graduated from Purdue, she started her first job in the Chicagoland area and joined second Baptist church of Evanston in 1986 under the pastorate of Reverend Dr. Hycer B. Taylor. she was so grateful for the spiritual mentorship, training, and life changing growth she expeiienced under the leadership of these two men. Rose was preaching, teaching, and leading in both churches before she even recognized the calling on her life to serve as a pastor, preacher, and teacher of Jesus christ.

Rose served as the Assistant Pastor of second Baptist church in- Evanston, Illinois under the leadership of Senior Pastors Reverend Dr. Hycel B. Taylor-and later, Mark A. Dennis, Jr. Her primary role included serving as the Minister of Christian Education, Pastoral Leader for the Woman's Ministry, and coordinator and worship leader for worship services. She also served as a team leader and member of several strategic Planning Teams for the church.

she received her Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical The-ological seminary in Evanston, Illinois in June 1997 at Garrett, she received the William Borders Scholarship for her academic achievements and demonstrated promise for the ordained minffi she was also one of the first recipients of the Progressive National Baptist Convention Seminarian Awards in 1944. Rose was licensed to preach in 1996 and ordained in 1997 at Second Baptist Church by Dr. Taylor. She has preached and conducted spiritual empowerment workshops at various churches throughout the Chicagoland area and country.

when her season in ministry ended at second Baptist church, she spent five years resting, relaxing, and praying about her next assignrnent and just being "ministered to".  During this time she served as the Chicago Chapter Director for the National Consortium of Black Woman in Ministry (NCBWIM) Inc. From 2oo4 to 2oo9  Rose heard God say that it was time fo. her to establish a church in the area which she lived--Gurnee, Illinois - Lake countv. She founded North Shore Faith Community Church (NSFCC) on December29,2oo9 serving as Senior pastor.

under Rose's leadership, NSFCC has thrived througtr the many annual events and partnerships with the local community' she received several civic award. for her community partnerships.

Many well-received events include: The powerful Women's power Summit Breakfasts with dlrramic and world-renowned preachers.

The Annual Holy week Festivities that have demonstrated that God uses men and women as pastoral leaders to preach, teach, and reach God's people.

The Bible studies, and small groups that have transformed lives.

The YOUTH4Christ ministry seminar on HIV-AIDS, the partnership with Lake County Public Health Department, and the Annual Holy-Hip Hop ministry along with many other events.

God did a miraculous work by empowering Rose with strategic opportunities training global teams and physicians on new drugs, managing multi-million dollar clinical projects, and more importantly, executing, and implementing new drug applications. Several of the durgs that her team developed with scientific excellence wer approved by the FDA and are now on pharmacy shelves. She even traveled throughout Europe to conduct pharmaceutical business in Belgium, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Bonn, Basil, Monaco, London, South Africa, Osaka, Bordeaux, Nice, Austria, Dublin, Glasgow, and Amsterdame; travling to these city and countries many times.

After a breif illness, Rose departed this earthly tabernacle on Friday, May 31, 2019 and entered immediately into the presence of the Almighty God.

Rose is preceded in death by her mother: Rosemarie Quarterman Green. She leaves to morn her passing; her father Robert Green Jr.; her siblings, Robert (Bobby) Green, Angela (Michael) Israel, Randall (Donna) Green; Stepbrother Maurice (Vera) Green; maternal aunts Shirley Johnson and Patricia Quarterman; maternal uncle John Quarterman; Paternal aunt Ethel Mumford; paternal uncles Richard Green and John Nesmith. She also leaves to morn the extended Green and Quarterman families, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,North Shore Faith Community Church members, Second Baptist Church, Second African Baptist Church, Trinity United Church of Christ, friends, colleagues, classmates, members and mentees whose lives have been irrevocably touched by the blessing of her friendship and love.
