Joseph Edward Howard was born on August 22, 1991 at St. Francis Hospital. He was raised in Evanston, Illinois. He attended Washington and Nichols Schools for grammar school education. For high school, he attended Evanston Township where he excelled in his studies. He developed a contagious and outgoing personality that destined him for leadership. It was here, where he also got the spark to join the armed services. He graduated from Evanston Township in May of 2009.
Joseph at this point went to community college one semester only to find out that college was not for him. He gravitated to the military and enlisted in December 2009. Here is where he dedicated his life to his country, starting in the Army Reserves. He decided to go Active Reserves 2 years later and was stationed in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 2012- 2017. While stationed in Minnesota, he developed many strong relationships and was encouraged to excel and advance his military service. While in Minnesota, he blossomed and attained the rank of Sergeant 3rd Class in 2013.
In 2017, Joseph was reassigned to serve in Long Island, NY. He joined the 7202 Medical Unit. While stationed in New York, he got his wings and became a Paratrooper in February 2018. He went on to complete Advanced Leadership Course in 2019 and in March of 2020 Air Assault Training. After completing this training, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Summer of 2020. This was an accomplishment that he worked very hard to achieve at such a young age. k1 December 2020 he marked his 10 year anniversary in the Army.
